Diagnostic Health becomes Valley Regional Imaging

Now Locally Operated by Partners Carolina Regional Radiology

and Cape Fear Valley Health System

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.    Carolina Regional Radiology (CRR) is pleased to announce that they have acquired Diagnostic Health in partnership with Cape Fear Valley Health System. Together, they are operating the outpatient imaging center at 3186 Village Drive, now known as Valley Regional Imaging (VRI).

From the mid-1980s until recently, CRR radiologists provided services for this imaging facility, as it operated under the auspices of National Imaging Associates (located on Metromedical Drive), HealthSouth and Diagnostic Health Corporation.

“The mission of VRI is to provide quality, state-of-the-art imaging by board certified, subspecialty trained radiologists in the most customer service-oriented environment,” says Bruce Distell, MD, President of CRR.  “Local operation of the facility enables us to focus directly on patient care and convenience, without the constraints of an out-of-town corporation.”  He notes that VRI’s priorities include ensuring easy access to patient scheduling and providing high quality reports, with quick turnaround, to referring physicians.

Dr. David R. Fisher, Medical Director at the new facility, says, "We at Carolina Regional Radiology are very proud of the Valley Regional Imaging facility and delighted to be partnering with one of the largest health care providers in the state in our new joint venture.  We look forward to the opportunities presented by this partnership, as we strive to be recognized for providing the best radiology service available in the state.”

CRR has more than 20 board certified radiologists, many of whom are fellowship-trained in subspecialties. Their specialty fields include Women's Health, Cancer, Orthopedic, Neurological, Cardiovascular and Pediatric Imaging.  The Valley Regional Imaging facility on Village Drive is equipped with advanced technology systems for X-ray, digital mammography, high field and open MRI, multi-slice CT, ultrasound, bone density and nuclear medicine testing.
