CRR Welcomes New Radiologist |

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Shannon Bownds, M.D. has joined Carolina Regional Radiology (CRR). “We are pleased to welcome Dr. Bownds,” says Max Faykus, M.D., President of CRR. “With his diverse background and outstanding credentials, he is an asset to our group.” Dr. Bownds is Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology and completed specialty Fellowship training in Neuroradiology at the University of Utah. During his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, Mass, he completed specialty rotations at Boston Children’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, and the Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary. Prior to his radiology training, he completed a Surgical Internship at Boston University Medical Center. Dr. Bownds is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine in Madison. He also earned his Bachelor’s Degree as well as a Master’s Degree in Medical Microbiology & Immunology from the University of Wisconsin.
One of the largest radiology groups in southeastern North Carolina, Carolina Regional Radiology has facilities in Fayetteville (Administrative Offices and Interventional Clinic) and Angier (Imaging Center). The group has more than 20 board certified radiologists, many with subspecialty training, who provide diagnostic and interventional radiology services for hospitals, imaging centers, clinics and other facilities throughout a ten-county region.
